BRULEY WHITE
Attorney
Melinda Bruley White is a Glynn County, Georgia native whose areas of expertise include civil litigation, corporate law, representation of Georgia educators, and real estate and real estate related litigation. Her interest in the rich history of coastal Georgia has also led her to develop a practice focusing upon questions involving title and landowners’ rights under the Coastal Marshlands Protection Act and related laws. As the lead attorney at the firm's St. Simons office, Melinda has litigated in both federal and state courts at all levels.
Melinda attended Emory University, Augusta College, and graduated from The University of Georgia School of Law in 1988, where she served as a Notes Editor for the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law. She then practiced insurance law and served as in-house counsel for DeKalb County in Atlanta until 1996. Melinda returned to Brunswick and the Golden Isles with her family, and after a career in education, joined The Ligon Firm in January 2015.
Melinda currently serves as a member of the Law and Education Committee of the Georgia State Bar and is an attorney with the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE).
